The Steiff Bear is one of the most recogniseable classic designs in the world. The name Teddy Bear comes from Theodore Roosevelt who was lampooned in a cartoon in the early 20th Century, as a result Morris Mitchom named his stuffed bear a Teddy.
Richard Steiff designed the first Steiff creation in 1903 independant of Mitchom but it also became known as a Teddy bear.
Today the Steiff bear is revered as a classic and one of the ultimate collectables they often auction for a small fortune but rarely does that compare to the pleasuse and comfort they have brought to so many small children.
These cufflinks in polished Anti-Rhodium are 18mm tall and beautifully detailed. Very unusual and individual they would make a super gift.
